Dorottya Hoór
Dorottya Hoór is an ‘Excellence Postdoctoral Research Fellow’ at the Research Methods Centre of the Department of Sociology and Social Research. She obtained her PhD in Sociology at the Mitchell Centre for Social Network Analysis at the University of Manchester, while previously she completed her MA in Sociology and Social Anthropology at the Central European University and her BA in Economics and Psychology at the University of Glasgow.
Her doctoral research explored how personal networks shape the lived-experiences of high-skilled Hungarian returning migrants using mixed-methodological tools, such as Social Network Analysis (SNA), multi-level modelling, fuzzy-set Qualitative Comparative Analysis (fsQCA) and Thematic Analysis. Accordingly, her main research interests lie in how social networks shape individual outcomes, especially in the context of migration, although she has worked on a range of topics, including domestic abuse, social support networks, narrative movie networks and policy networks. Dorottya is also interested in research design and methodological innovations, particularly within the field of mixed-methods social network research.
